Custom Colours

caring for the countrysideCalcium silicate bricks are naturally either white, light cream or slightly pink. This variance in natural colour is in accordance with the type of sand used in the manufacturing process.

With the combination of mineral pigments  and a specific couloured sand it is possible to produce bricks in many different interesting and attractive colours. Whilst the pigments are permanent there will be some weathering by exposure to the atmosphere and weather.

Coloured bricks are suitable for internal or external use, having the same durability, strength and hardness of the natural calcium silicate brick.

Coloured bricks are ideal for internal walls, e.g. public buildings, schools, sport centres and offices. The different colours can be used to signify routes of signage. Their use saves plastering, creates a very attractive environment, gives a high level of light reflection without glare and ensures minimum maintenance. If required, however, calcium silicate brick walls make a very good surface for receiving paint and other decorative materials.

The range of coloured bricks offered by Esk Building Products is extensive, with both single and multi colours. There may be situations, however, where a colour is required that is not one of the Esk standard colours and it is for this reason that a special service is provided - Custom Colour.

The Esk Custom Colour service is unique in that it allows an architect, designer, planner or builder to have access to brick colours normally not available. In addition these can be made exclusive to a particular project. Esk offers a development service to assist in providing the perfect colour for your special project.
